Géomaticien / spécialiste sig - Casablanca

In this exciting role reporting to the Chief Production Geologist, you will provide support to the mine geology team through digitizing and drafting geological plans in a format that can be used by the mine geology and engineering departments to aid in production and planning. Additional tasks as requested by the Chief Production Geologist, such as the creation of site surface infrastructure maps, emergency plans and numerous other GIS related tasks. Development of automated processes and standards of data capture Guidance and training will be provided in software used onsite The preferred candidate will have tertiary qualifications in the Geosciences, sound knowledge of data management practices and experience with data modelling, design and administration. Familiarity with programming or scripting using SQL, Python and demonstrated experience in project management and developing information systems is highly regarded Examples of previous cartographic work may be requested  

Role responsibilities:

Work safely and ensure adherence to organizational policies and procedures Assist with the development and uphold standards for managing geological mapping data, ensuring that all necessary geological and geotechnical information is recorded Able to work to deadlines with limited supervision and produce work to a high professional standard A high level understanding and usage of databases

Horaires de travail : Rotation de 23 jours de travail / 7 jours de repos  Hébergement et restauration pris en charge par la société. Type de contrat : CDI  
A degree in Geology, or Engineering with an emphasis on Geosciences Strong communication skills, including communicating with people from different backgrounds and cultures. Ability to work to tight deadlines on multiple tasks. High level of enthusiasm for the work with high performance goals QGIS (Advanced) Leapfrog (Highly regarded) Datamine/ Surpac, or other similar mining software Photoshop/ Inkscape, or similar graphics software Programming or scripting using SQL/ Python (Highly regarded) Bilingual – French (Preferred) / English (highly regarded); Berber, Arabic (regarded)
