Research engineer/assistant in polymeric materials - Casablanca

Mission The Materials Science, Energy, and Nano-engineering (MSN) Department at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) invites applications for a Research Engineer/Assistant positionwith a focus on designing and developingnovel polymer-based materials for packaging applications.The successful candidate will be encouraged to collaborate with faculty members across disciplines and to contribute to interdisciplinary research initiatives within UM6Ps broader innovation ecosystem. Candidates mustdemonstratethe ability to work professionally and collaboratively within a diverse academic and research community, both within and outside the University.The position is open to individuals holding aPh.D. orMastersdegreeor equivalentin Chemical Engineering, Chemistry,Materials Science,or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution.
Contract Type: Fixed-Term (CDD 1 year) Principal Activities The selected candidate will undertake the following activities within the MSN Department at UM6P: Conversion and valorization of biomass into advanced polymer-based materials. Synthesis and surface modification of polymer-based materials for packaging applications. Synthesis and characterization of nanomaterials for functional and structural purposes. Required profile of the candidate: Educational Background: Ph.D. orMastersdegreeor equivalentin Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline. Technical Knowledge and Experience: Experience in theconversion and valorization of biomassandpolymeric materials. Strong background in materials characterization techniques, including:FTIR, UV-Vis, AFM, TGA-DSC, XRD, SEM, XPS, Raman spectroscopy, etc. Proficiencyin using scientific software such as Origin,HighScore, VESTA, Mendeley, etc. Ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary teams (chemists, physicists, polymer scientists). Excellent technical writing and presentation skills. Fluency in English (written and spoken) isrequired.
