Position: Financial Controller (IFRS Moroccan Accounting) Role Summary

The Financial Controller is responsible for the company’s daily financial management, accounting accuracy, and reliability of financial reporting. Reporting directly to the Director of Administration and Finance (DAF), the role ensures compliance with IFRS and Moroccan accounting and tax regulations, while maintaining effective internal controls and efficient financial processes. This is a hands-on leadership role combining operational accounting oversight, technical expertise, and team supervision.

Key Responsibilities

Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closings under IFRS

Prepare statutory financial statements in line with Moroccan GAAP (CGNC)

Produce financial reports and analyses for management review

Manage IFRS vs. local GAAP reconciliations

Coordinate year-end audits under DAF supervision

Oversee accounting operations (GL, AP/AR, payroll, fixed assets)

Review complex journal entries and ensure accurate reconciliations

Ensure tax compliance (VAT, corporate and local taxes)

Support budgeting, forecasting, and performance monitoring

Track cash flow, working capital, and financial KPIs

Supervise and support the accounting team

Authority Reporting Line

Acts as the operational lead of the accounting function, ensures the accuracy and timeliness of financial data, escalates complex matters to the DAF, and supports audit, compliance, and strategic activities.

Profile Qualifications

Degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s in Audit Management Control preferred)

Strong knowledge of IFRS and Moroccan CGNC

Minimum 7 years of accounting/finance experience

Proven IFRS reporting and statutory accounting experience

ERP systems knowledge (Sage, BeeOne, etc.) and advanced Excel

Hands-on, detail-oriented, structured, and reliable under deadlines
